Tank Pit Validations
Tank Pit Validations are required whenever an underground storage tank is removed. Tank pit validations are usually undertaken in three parts which are: Soil validation of the pit walls and base that formally held the tank; soil tests of the soil required to be excavated to remove the tank and; soil validation of the imported fill to ‘fill up’ the space left from the removal of the tank. Tank Pit Validations are mandatory in NSW under the Protection of the Environment Operations (Underground Petroleum Storage Systems) Regulation 2019.
