Acid Sulfate Soil Assessments
Acid Sulfate Soil Assessments are usually required at naturally low lying coastal areas. Acid sulfate soil or potential acid sulphate soil can generate very serious WH&S, environmental, and engineering problems if not properly identified. Acid Sulfate Soil Assessments test for the presence of Actual or Potential Acid Sulfate Soil. Soil is excavated to a depth at least 1 metre below the maximum planned depth of excavation. Samples are taken and field tested by oxidation with concentrated peroxide. The samples that test positive in the field are sent to a lab for further testing.
