Hazardous Materials Services
A Properly Prepared Hazardous Materials Survey Can Save You Money! Surveying for hazardous and environmentally sensitive materials in buildings and other structures and in soil is an important component in the GETEX suite of consulting, project management, inspection, supervision and measurement services. GETEX holds ISO/IEC 17020 NATA Accreditation for hazardous material surveys, hazardous materials management plans and hazardous materials clearance inspections. The services supplied by GETEX are tailored to meet each individual situation.
- Have you applied for development consent and been asked by the council for a survey?
- Do you require a pre-purchase inspection?
- Are you about to demolish a building and do you know what is inside?
Typically in buildings, the materials surveyed include asbestos, lead based paint, lead in dust, synthetic mineral fibres (SMF), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s) and ozone depleting substances (ODS). These materials may present serious health, safety and/or environmental problems. If high lead levels are found soil sampling for lead may also be required. State and national legislation, guidelines and codes place obligations on building owners, property managers and occupiers to ensure the identification of and the appropriate management and disposal of these materials.
Contact Getex today if you need a hazardous materials survey conducted or if you are concerned about hazardous materials that may be within your premises.
